The Path to the Lotus Temple
I stand at the beginning of a long straight path leading to a white lotus blooming in the middle of a green park. Around me is perfect symmetry: neatly trimmed bushes, vibrant flower beds, and even lawns. It feels as if every leaf and petal here is cared for with love. The territory is vast, yet so well-maintained that you feel like you’re walking inside a living work of art.
The closer I get, the clearer the contours of the Lotus Temple become — a symbol of purity and harmony. Built in 1986, it is the main Bahá’í House of Worship in Asia and one of Delhi’s most recognizable landmarks.

The Bahá’í Faith emerged in the 19th century in Persia. Its founder, Bahá’u’lláh, taught that there is one God and all world religions are chapters of a single great book. Prophets of different eras — Moses, Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad, Krishna, and Bahá’u’lláh himself — came from the same divine source to lead humanity toward unity. Bahá’ís uphold the equality of men and women, the rejection of fanaticism, world peace, and the harmony of science and religion. They have no clergy or mandatory rituals, and prayer is a personal conversation with God.
The Lotus Temple is open to everyone, regardless of faith or nationality. You can simply enter, sit in silence, and feel the noise of the metropolis dissolve far away. Inside, photography and talking are not allowed — only silence, soft light, and a sense of spaciousness where time seems to disappear.
When you step back outside, the park greets you again with its greenery, straight alleys, and the scent of flowers. Here you want to walk slowly, enjoying every step and every detail of this place where nature and architecture exist in perfect harmony.

Дорога до Храму Лотоса
Я стою на початку довгої прямої алеї, що веде до білосніжної квітки лотоса, розкритої посеред зеленого парку. Навколо — ідеальна симетрія: акуратно підстрижені кущі, яскраві квітники, рівні газони. Здається, що за кожним листочком і пелюсткою тут доглядають з любов’ю. Територія величезна, але настільки доглянута, що почуваєшся всередині живого витвору мистецтва.
Чим ближче підходжу, тим чіткішими стають обриси Храму Лотоса — символу чистоти й гармонії. Збудований у 1986 році, він є головним храмом бахаї в Азії та однією з найвідоміших пам’яток Делі.
Віра бахаї виникла у XIX столітті в Персії. Її засновник, Бахаулла, навчав, що Бог один, а всі світові релігії — це розділи однієї великої книги. Пророки різних епох — Мойсей, Будда, Ісус, Мухаммед, Крішна та сам Бахаулла — прийшли від одного джерела, щоб вести людство до єдності. Бахаї проголошують рівність чоловіків і жінок, відмову від фанатизму, мир у всьому світі та гармонію науки й релігії. У них немає священиків і обов’язкових обрядів, а молитва — це особиста розмова з Богом.

Храм Лотоса відкритий для всіх, незалежно від віри чи національності. Тут можна просто увійти, присісти в тиші й відчути, як шум мегаполіса зникає десь дуже далеко. Усередині заборонено фотографувати та розмовляти — лише тиша, м’яке світло та відчуття простору, в якому легко забути про час.
А коли виходиш назад, парк знову зустрічає тебе зеленню, рівними алеями та ароматом квітів. Тут хочеться йти повільно, насолоджуючись кожним кроком і кожною деталлю цього місця, де природа й архітектура злилися в абсолютній г
