🕉️ Climbing the steep stairs to the top of Parvati Hill in Pune wasn’t easy —
especially in the heat.
But the reward was worth every breath: an incredible panoramic view
of the entire city opens up from here, as if the temple itself hovers above everyday life.
At the summit stands the Parvati Temple, one of the oldest heritage structures in Pune,
believed to have been built in the 18th century by the Peshwa dynasty —
which makes it over 250 years old. But the power it radiates feels timeless.
This temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati, the gentle and nurturing aspect of Shakti.
Yet, as legends say, she is not alone — Durga, Kali, Annapurna, and other forms are all
expressions of her energy. Just like a woman, Parvati changes depending on the moment:
— When enraged, she becomes Kali,
— When she protects, she is Durga,
— When she nurtures, she returns as Parvati.
At the entrance, there’s a powerful Yantra of Goddess Durga —
a sacred diagram showing her ten arms holding divine weapons from different gods.
A symbol of divine protection.
Above the triangle, a small sun and moon — signs of cosmic balance.
The number combinations inscribed inside hold esoteric meanings.
This yantra guards the space like an invisible shield.
Next to it is another sacred geometric symbol —
the Shri Yantra, associated with Goddess Lakshmi, representing abundance,
harmony and the union of masculine and feminine forces.
Inside the temple, we meet the deities:
— A local form of Parvati, dressed in red and adorned with flowers and jewelry,
— Another sacred idol of Gauri, placed above naturally formed orange stones —
believed to be self-manifested (swayambhu),
— And finally, Ganesha, their beloved son, painted in saffron, shining with joy.
This temple is not just a structure — it's a living presence.
A feminine force in many forms, watching the city from above.

Підніматися на пагорб Парваті в Пуне було нелегко —
особливо в спеку. Але краєвид нагорі все компенсував: перед очима відкривається
панорама всього міста, ніби сам храм височіє над буденністю.
На вершині стоїть храм Парваті — одна з найстаріших споруд Пуне,
збудована ще у XVIII столітті династією Пешва, тобто храму понад 250 років.
Та енергія, яку він випромінює — поза часом.
Храм присвячено богині Парваті — ніжному і люблячому втіленню жіночої енергії Шакті.
Але, за легендами, Парваті має багато облич:
— У гніві вона перетворюється на Калі,
— Захищаючи — стає Дурґою,
— У турботі — знову Парваті.
Перед входом — янтра Дурґи, священна геометрія з її десятьма руками,
кожна з яких тримає зброю, подаровану богами.
Це символ захисту. Сонце і місяць над трикутником — символи рівноваги.
Цифри всередині мають глибоке езотеричне значення.
Поряд — ще одна янтра, цього разу Шрі-Янтра, пов'язана з богинею Лакшмі —
покровителькою гармонії, достатку та союзу протилежностей.
Усередині храму — божества:
— Місцева форма Парваті, вбрана в червоне, прикрашена квітами та прикрасами,
— Священна постать Гаурі над природними помаранчевими каменями, що вважаються самовиниклими,
— І нарешті, Ґанеша — улюблений син, пофарбований у шафрановий колір,
випромінює радість.
Цей храм — не просто споруда. Це жива присутність,
жіноча енергія у всіх її проявах, що дивиться на місто згори.
