🏰 Shaniwar Wada –
The Fort of the Peshwas (Pune)
🇬🇧 A grand reminder of Maratha pride and tragedy
Built in 1732, Shaniwar Wada was the royal residence of the Peshwas,
prime ministers of the Maratha Empire.
It once stood as a seven-story palace with stunning gardens, fountains,
and richly decorated halls —
a symbol of political power and architectural elegance.
Today, only the massive stone walls and gates remain,
after a mysterious fire destroyed most of the structure in 1828.

The huge Dilli Darwaza (Delhi Gate), covered in iron spikes to stop war elephants.
Inner courtyards, bastions, and garden remains.
Evening light and sound show that brings its history to life.
👻 Did you know?
Locals believe that the fort is haunted by the ghost of Narayanrao,
a young Peshwa murdered within its walls.
People say they still hear his cry: "Kaka, mala vachva!" ("Uncle, save me!") echoing at night.

Побудована у 1732 році, Shaniwar Wada була королівською резиденцією пешвів —

Колись це був семиповерховий палац із садами, фонтанами та розкішними залами —

Сьогодні збереглися лише масивні кам’яні мури й брами,
адже у 1828 році більшість споруди знищила загадкова пожежа.
