🌿 A bit of story
The name Ragigudda means "hill of ragi" (finger millet). Legend says a sage turned grains of ragi into stone here — and since 1969, this place has been considered sacred. The temple was formally established in 1972.
The main deity is Lord Hanuman — the symbol of strength, devotion, and purity.
The main sanctum sits high on the hill, glowing in the evening sun.
But what truly takes your breath away is the 32-foot triple sculpture of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, carved into stone.

When we left, my husband enjoyed the prasadam — especially the sweets. I didn’t eat, it was too spicy for me.
But that didn’t matter.

As you walk through the temple complex, you’ll be greeted by remarkable sculptures filled with spiritual meaning.

🔸 🌺 The graceful female figure near the entrance is likely a devata or temple attendant. She symbolizes blessings, beauty, and harmony.
🔸 The massive statue of Garuda, the celestial eagle and mount of Vishnu, watches over the temple from above.
🔸 We also saw a striking figure of Hanuman, the mighty warrior holding a mace — a symbol of strength, loyalty, and protection.

🇬🇧 Statue of Lord Vishnu – The Protector of the Universe
This majestic white stone sculpture represents Lord Vishnu, the divine preserver in the Hindu trinity (Trimurti). His calm expression and royal posture radiate peace, power, and protection.
In his hands, Vishnu holds sacred symbols:
– the chakra (divine discus) to destroy evil,
– the shankha (conch shell) to call forth cosmic energy,
– the gada (mace) symbolizing strength,
– and often a lotus, the symbol of purity and rebirth.
At his feet, a small figure humbly prays — likely a sage or his loyal vehicle Garuda, showing deep devotion.

In the serene Ragigudda Temple, among the many divine statues, one striking figure stands out — the five-faced form of Lord Hanuman, known as Panchamukhi Hanuman. Rare and powerful, this depiction carries deep symbolic meaning and spiritual protection.
Each of the five faces represents a different divine incarnation:
1. Hanuman (center) — Devotion, strength, and loyalty to Lord Rama.
2. Narasimha (lion face) — Fierce protector against evil and fear.
3. Garuda (eagle face) — Destroys black magic and poisons.
4. Varaha (boar face) — Saves the Earth from destruction.
5. Hayagriva (horse face) — Brings wisdom, knowledge, and victory in learning.

Ми приїхали трохи раніше.
Перед входом уже була черга. Люди мовчали, ніхто не поспішав — ніби чекали на щось дуже справжнє.
І справді — щойно піднімаєшся сходами, щось усередині змінюється.
Навколо — зелень, прохолода, спокій.
Це не просто парк.

🛕 Трохи історії
Назва Рагігудда означає «пагорб проса». За легендою, мудрець перетворив звичайне зерно (ragi) на камінь саме тут.
У 1969 році на цьому місці почали будувати храм, а вже в 1972 році він став офіційним святим місцем.
Головне божество — Господь Хануман, символ сили, відданості й чистоти.
Основний храм — на самому верху пагорба.
А поруч — 32-футова кам'яна скульптура Брахми, Вішну й Шиви. Вражає до мурах.

У спокійному храмі Рагігудда серед багатьох божественних статуй вирізняється одна — п’ятилике втілення Господа Ханумана, відоме як Панча-Мукхі Хануман. Це рідкісне й потужне зображення має глибоке символічне значення та духовний захист.
Кожне з п’яти облич символізує окрему божественну форму:
1. Хануман (центр) — Відданість, сила та вірність Рамі.
